75,000 children in London are homeless

You can help us prevent homelessness in Enfield and Haringey. And support children, families and people of all ages who face the trauma of losing their homes.

Match funding by Aviva for this campaign has now ended, but you can still donate to support our vital work using the link below.

A family facing eviction

Adam and his partner, expecting their third child, received an eviction notice. Struggling to get a response from the council, Adam faced mounting pressure and threats to vacate the property. Fearing homelessness, he came to our day centre for guidance.

Our project worker explained his rights and advised him to stay in the property until the legal process was complete to avoid being considered ‘intentionally homeless,’ jeopardising their right to support. We helped him submit the correct documents and ensured the council was ready to provide emergency housing.

Our casework service is a vital lifeline. It helps families like Adam's understand their rights and access shelter in crisis.

A new mum in debt

Dinah had fallen into rent arrears of over £6000. New to the UK, with limited English, and a 6-week-old baby, she was overwhelmed by unfamiliar systems after moving from temporary housing to her own home. Following a friend’s advice, she sought help at APAP’s day centre.

Our project worker helped Dinah apply for housing benefit through Universal Credit, securing backdated payments to clear her arrears. To prevent future issues, we arranged direct payments to her landlord.

Homelessness prevention is a vital part of our work. Without our intervention, Dinah and her baby certainly faced eviction. With your help, we can ensure more families like Dinah’s have somewhere to turn to when they need it most.
